Type of Therapy

Relational Transactional Analysis

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

About Me & How I Work

At times, life can feel hard to manage. When this happens, it helps to have a space where we can be listened to and met, just as we are, with the sole goal of making sense of what's happening for us. We all deserve to feel happy, useful, calm and in control.

Coming to understand ourselves better through therapy can be the key to unlocking peace for ourselves. Using Relational Transactional Analysis (TA), interlaced with Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) where appropriate, I create a warm, safe space for you to unpack your world, explore what's happening for you today and those factors from the past which may be disrupting your inner peace and happiness.

Together, we can work through difficult feelings of grief, shame, anger, sadness and regret in a confidential and safe environment so you can feel hopeful, lighter, calmer and more centred.

My work is governed by the UKCP ethical code. I receive regular, robust supervision from highly qualified and experienced supervisors in both Transactional Analysis and EMDR.

What is EMDR?

EMDR is a unique, powerful therapy that helps people recover from problems triggered by traumatic events in their lives. It stops difficult memories causing so much distress by helping the brain to reprocess them properly. This is done using side to side eye movements, similar to REM sleep, whilst working with the traumatic memory to heal the legacy of past pain.

EMDR therapy is best known for treating PTSD but can help with a range of mental health conditions in people of all ages including depression and anxiety. Internationally recognised, EMDR therapy is endorsed by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence; the World Health Organisation; and the NHS.

You may be feeling guilty, selfish, not good enough or even not unwell enough to come to therapy. But everyone deserves to be heard. We all deserve to feel at peace. We need to take care of ourselves so we can start to be available for others. I understand that picking up the phone to call a therapist for the first time can feel hard and even overwhelming. So, either call or email me, whichever feels easier for you.
